After Dexter's Friday night basketball game last week we went out to eat at Robintino's. While waiting for our meal, Parker said, "I bet you can guess where I want to go to college?" I guessed, "BYU?" Parker said that was right. Then John and I preceded to tell him how difficult it would be to get accepted to BYU. We told him that he would need really good grades and if he lived outside of Utah that would probably increase his chances of getting in.
You all know how profound Dexter is, so when he asked if we knew where he wanted to go, we were expecting an Ivy League University.
Dexter said, "Do you know where I want to go to college?... I want to go to Eagle Gate College!"
John and I tried really hard not to laugh, he was so cute and sincere. We'll just be happy if both our boys go to college... and even happier if they get scholarships!
In this picture, John is trying to act "all candid" style. Kristen Beach has the best "candid" shots.

Could be, but you probably need a bit more fresh air and sunshine to think clearly. |

Eagle Gate College? Well, Alli and Lesley wanted to go to Stevens Henager College when they were Dexter's age because they could finish in 9 months. We all died with laughter at the time. But look at them now! No worries!
Oh my gosh, I was thinking of the same story when I read this. Lesley talked about Stevens Henager's all the time. It was so funny! Nevertheless, she got into BYU and is graduating this summer!
Go Parker! BYU is a great school. Study hard and set goals and before you know it you'll be a Cougar!
Tasha, I love the new song on you bolg! You are the best. :)
That's not funny you guys. What do you expect from a kid who only watches commercials? Common, 9 months or 4 years? The choice seems pretty obvious...
Word of advice to Parker- You know the old saying, if you don't get in the first time, try, try again. BYU-Idaho is really easy to get into (or at least it was 4 years ago) and it's cheaper and they he could just transfer- it's the best way to go! But what a way to be to already be thinking about college- it took me till I was like 17, hence BYU-Idaho.
